From Farm to table: Charleston Farmers Market has what you need

Now typically this post would be about a recipe from my own kitchen, but this post is taking a different direction today. Typically you go to the store, buy the ingredients you need and prepare an amazing meal, well lets take store bought ingredients out of the picture and head to the farmers market. Yes the farmers market, where everything is home grown and brought to you fresh! I mean anyone who loves to cook would choose fresh fruits and veggies to cook with any day.

I love walking around a farmers market and seeing all the locally grown fruits and veggies that many stands have to offer, but I also love seeing fresh foods like po'boys, beignets and iced teas. Obviously being a foodie, I couldn't just walk around and not get anything, so I indulged!

Pictured below is the fabulous Hibiscus Raspberry Iced Tea that was out of this world amazing!
Its vibrant color with hints of hibiscus and raspberry made for an amazing combination that was cool and refreshing on this hot Charleston day.

As I continued to walk around, I couldn't help but stop and look at each menu to see what indulgences each tent offered. In the picture above, this market place offered so many of my favorite foods that I couldn't choose. Yes I reached that point. From the fresh made po'boys (you could choose either shrimp, oyster, or roast beef) to the fresh made beignets dusted with powdered sugar, honestly I wanted to buy everything off the menu. One thing that I really loved about this market place was that everything was made fresh and to order. Also the smell coming from this tent was amazing and made my mouth water! The next time you are at the Charleston Farmers Market, search out this great find called Cafe Tippeneaux.

But I have to say, there were so many other places as well to get something amazing to eat. You can find homemade sausages, pork sammies, gyros and lots of fresh fruits and veggies. So if you are a foodie like me, this is a place you definitely have to visit, and also bring your appetite cause you definitely will want to have more than one thing!

So have I made your decision on your next meal choice? I sure hope so! The next time you are wondering where to go for a good meal, sweet treat or homemade recipe, come right here and this southern girl will take care of you.
