Dining with Chip and Dale around the Garden Grill

Nothing like enjoying the day exploring Magic Kingdom, riding Big Thunder Mountain or visiting your favorite princess; but after all of that walking, you are going to need a filling dinner. Well for us we ventured to Epcot and dined with Chip, Dale, Mickey and Pluto at The Garden Grill. An all you can eat fare dining with some of your favorite characters is a perfect way to end the day.

Nestled in The Land Pavilion located right above Soarin' Around the World sits Garden Grill; a rotating restaurant that serves your meal "family style" all while dining with Mickey and some of his farm friends! Upon walking up and checking in, you take one look up and you see Mickey and his friends walking around saying hi and snapping photos with diners (and if you are like my twin sister, you are bouncing up and down waiting anxiously to meet Chip and Dale). We were fortunate enough to be greeted by David and walked to our table. He had a great personality and was one of the many outstanding cast members we got the pleasure of interacting with. Now i know what you might be thinking... a spinning restaurant? That won't be good, but let me tell you that you will hardly notice that the restaurant is moving and while you are dining on Chip and Dale's fine farm feast and look back up, your view will have changed! Ready for the food? Well after this long day, so were we!

After sitting down, your waiter comes around and lets you know what will be served and to take your drink orders. Shortly after warm rolls with butter and a chopped salad with hard boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, bacon, cucumber and a vinaigrette are dropped off while you wait for your family style meal to be delivered. After a busy day, this was a perfect start to our meal. But let me warn you, don't eat to fast, you will want to save room for the meal and especially dessert (keep reading and you will see why). Now as we are eating, we caught our first character siting..Chip... and if you were my twin sister you just about lost yourself. She loves Chip and Dale (Chip being her favorite... sorry Dale) and I think every few seconds she was turning around to see when he was coming to our table next. I mean how do you act when you see your favorite Disney Character (comment below, I wanna know!).
At one point in time, I seriously thought she was about to cry... but she didn't just overjoyed? Excited? Even I don't think I have the right word.

Anyway, after meeting and spending some time with Chip, our server came over and dropped off our family style meal! Loaded in a cast iron skillet, you are served green beans, turkey with gravy, stuffing, pot roast, mac and cheese and other seasonal veggies. If you had to guess, what do you think out of everything I listed went first? If you thought Mac and Cheese then you my friend are correct. I mean come on, even as an adult, mac and cheese is the number one food you dig into first (and since when at Disney you bring out your inner child, it obviously was the first to go). While eating we got the pleasure of hanging out with Dale, Mickey and Pluto!

Alright, after polishing off a great meal, there was one thing left to have.. dessert! Our waiter brought us sugar cookies topped with Mickey Sprinkles and finally Strawberry shortcake (yes we had strawberry short cake 2 nights in a row).

So are you full yet? Well we all sure were at the end and needed to walk around a little to work off dinner. Well I hope you enjoyed this post, and I can't wait to keep sharing with you my awesome food adventure I had while at the Happiest Place on Earth! So have I made your decision on your next meal choice while at Walt Disney World? I sure hope so! The next time you are wondering where to go for a good meal, sweet treat or homemade recipe, come right here and this southern girl will take care of you.
