"Crusin" into Nassau, Bahamas Day 2

So Day 2 and we have found ourselves in the port at Nassau, Bahamas. Arriving into port early in the morning, the sunrise was beautiful and the views from our balcony were spectacular. Now Matt and I decided to not venture off the boat (since it was our first cruise) and what a smart decision that was. Literally everyone got off at the port and we basically had the whole ship to ourselves. After indulging in the Lido deck buffet for breakfast, Matt and I wandered around the ship and really got to explore (since during days out to sea, the ship is crowded). On the Carnival Liberty you will find: the Casino, The Fun Shops, The Venetian Palace (the place where Matt and I scored big during Bingo!), the Serenity deck (for those of you 21+), and so much more.

After really walking through the ship, we decided to go out on the Lido deck and enjoy the nice day, grab a drink and watch the on-board movie (the new Beauty and the Beast)! Now many of you would think I went right for my classic drink Kiss on the Lips, but I am going to surprise you and tell you I mixed it up and went with a classic strawberry Daiquiri. Through out the day, I thought I would make this the day to try something new. My next new item was a Miami Vice. A drink that combines a Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri. Below I will share the recipe's for both a Strawberry Daiquiri and a Miami Vice.

Miami Vice

The perfect frosty beverage while sitting on deck in the port of Nassau, the Miami Vice will compliment your tropical vacation. The ingredients include:

5oz of Bacardi 151
1 bottle of frozen Pina Colada mix
1 bottle of frozen Strawberry Daiquiri mix

  • First mix the pina colada mix with 2 1/2 oz of Bacardi and ice
  • Next mix the strawberry daiquiri mix with 2 1/2 oz of Bacardi and ice
  • Then take a glass and tilt it sideways and pour some pina colada. Then keeping the glass tilted, pour the daiquiri mix.
Beautiful in the glass, it is a must take picture, post to Instagram drink!

Next comes the classic Strawberry Daiquiri

There was nothing better than enjoying a classic, frosty drink while sitting out getting some sun. Topped with a piece of pineapple, cherry and mini umbrella, this complimented any great cruise day.

Recipe:
  • mix daiquiri mix and 2 1/2oz of rum and ice.
  • Pour into glass and top with pineapple, cherry and mini umbrella.
Doesn't this sound perfect? You can enjoy this on a hot summer day while soaking up the sun!

Now after spending a day getting some sun (and boy did we get more than we bargained for), it was time to get dressed and head to the dining room. After arriving to our same table, we were greeted by our servers from the night before. Ordering our "usual" drinks we browsed the menu and it sounded just as good as the night before.

Dinner for me included:
  • Seared Sea Scallops
  • Blue Crab Ravioli
  • Hazelnut Cake
The seared sea scallops were cooked to perfection and just melted in your mouth. The Blue Crab Ravioli was stuffed with lots of blue crab and had an amazing cream sauce that complimented the dish so well that even when I was full and didn't want anymore, I kept taking another bite. Then to end the perfect meal was a hazelnut cake. As any dessert lover knows hazelnut and chocolate are the perfect combination.

Well I hope you enjoyed this post, and I can't wait to keep sharing with you my awesome food adventure I had while out to sea! So have I made your decision on your next meal choice while onboard the Carnival Liberty? I sure hope so! The next time you are wondering where to go for a good meal, sweet treat or homemade recipe, come right here and this southern girl will take care of you.
