The Palmetto State searches for an Italian "pick me up"

Oh the glories of Italian food. Y'all can't tell me that you don't enjoy a good, authentic Italian meal; but let me ask you one question. When you think of Italian dessert what comes to mind? Do you think we are thinking of the same thing? My guess is probably not, but hey thats okay. When you are done reading this blog, the first thing that will come to your mind when you hear the words Italian dessert will be this "pick me up" (which is the translation for this Italian word). Okay just one more question.. do you know what the Italian word is for "pick me up"? And no don't cheat and google it. Give up? Alright I'll tell you... the answer is Tiramisu. Yes Tiramisu in Italian means pick me up and this dessert is exactly that. On any occasion you can make this dessert and it will definitely be the pick me up of your occasion. Now keep reading and you will get step by step directions on making this recipe and also feast with your eyes on my presentation of this classic Italian dessert. 


Served in a clear glass bowl, this dessert is one you want your guests to feast with their eyes and want to indulge in right away. Topped with fresh raspberries, shaved chocolate and whipped topping, you can't help but just take your spoon and help yourself right from the bowl. Now whose ready for the directions to this dish? Well keep reading and I'll share with ya (cause sharing is caring).

Okay before I just give you the directions and send you on your way, let's gather our ingredients shall we? I mean all of those components are kind of important to make a dish right? 





Ingredients:

1 8 oz. package of Cream Cheese, softened
3 cups of cold milk
2 packages (3.4 oz) of Jell-O Vanilla Instant Pudding
1 (8 oz) tub of Cool Whip
1 box of vanilla wafers
1/2 cup of brewed coffee, cooled
2 oz of Baker's Semi Sweet Chocolate
1 cup of fresh raspberries

alright everyone, got your ingredients? Let's cook shall we!

Steps:
1. Beat softened cream cheese until creamy
2. Beat in milk, and then pudding mix. Combine well.
3. Gently stir in 2 cups of Cool Whip Topping.
4. Line glass bowl with wafers. (I line the bottom and the sides with wafers)
5. Pour 1/4 cup of coffee over the cookies (if you aren't a big coffee person like me, feel free to omit the coffee or just add less)
6.Top with pudding mixture
7. Top with shaved chocolate
8. Line with more wafers
9. Pour remaining coffee over cookies
10. Top with pudding mixture
11. Top with shaved chocolate
12. Add fresh raspberries and Cool Whip topping

Before serving, Refrigerate for 2 hours or longer until ready to serve.
