The Palmetto State goes to the Happiest Place On Earth Part 2

First things first, if you haven't read Part 1.. I highly advise it... it is not recommended but highly encouraged. Anyway, our culinary adventure through Walt Disney World continues, and it isn't just to any old place... but to the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival. This is one of my favorite times at WDW not only because I got to work the festival last year, but you get to try all this amazing cuisine from a plethora of countries and it really opens your palate and taste buds to other cultures and their food! Now lets get to the food, shall we?!

Alright, when you first walk into the World Showcase, you have two options: you can either go right and start off in Scotland, or you could go left and venture into Farm Fresh and other great eats. Well I went right and started in Scotland and let me tell you, it was a great choice to start off my culinary adventure around the world.

Looking at this Scottish menu, you have many things to choose from, but what caught my attention (and was my favorite from the festival last year) was the Seared Sea Scallop on a bed of creamed spinach and topped with bacon. Now I recommend getting a little bit of everything on your fork and take a bite. The scallop will melt in your mouth, you will have a crunch from the bacon and a nice creamy sauce from the spinach to balance it all out. How could you not want to go back and order another one?! Trust me, I wanted to, but I knew there were a ton of other countries to go and try and went on to the next one. Y'all ready for what was next? Well keep reading!

Next I ventured to the Aloha State... yes I'm talking about Hawaii. Nestled in between two buns is Kahlua infused pork topped with a pineapple chutney and topped with a spicy mayo. Now who wouldn't want that? In one bite this baby was gone and it was one amazing bite. the hot pork with the cold pineapple and spicy mayo complemented each other so well, that I would have to say that this was a perfect bite. Pair this with the Pineapple Wine or a Kona brew and you have yourself one great combination.

Now keep reading because the next country we head to is one you don't want to miss!

Next stop, Greece. Ahh greek food, their really is nothing like it. To some people they shy away from it, but not me, I'll go to it straight on and try anything that it serves. Now pictured right is Spanakopita. Flaky dough wraps around a cream spinach filling and baked till nice and golden brown. This has to be one of my favorite greek dishes. One bite just melts in your mouth and makes you go back for just one more... but it's a good thing they give you two squares because I don't think one would have been enough. But don't worry, this wasn't the only thing we ordered. Anyone in the mood for some Taziki sauce? Well you will want to dive into the next picture. Trust me, I know I did.

Ahh the classic Chicken Gyro. Topped with  tomatoes, mixed greens and Taziki sauce, this is the ultimate combination. The tang from the sauce really pulls the dish together, and makes me keep going back for another bite. Even though it is messy to eat, it is one that is so worth the mess! Believe me, you will be getting back in line to order another one... I mean I almost did.

So are you ready to pack your bags and head to Orlando, so you can have these amazing eats? I know I'm ready to go back! But promise me when you go down there you bring me with you! I mean who else is going to tell you what to have?!
So have I made your decision on your next meal choice? I sure hope so! The next time you are wondering where to go for a good meal, sweet treat or homemade recipe, come right here and this southern girl will take care of you.

Remember: Missy's Munchies is the munchies fix to help your munchies kick

Stay tuned for more of my culinary adventure through Walt Disney World... Some of the best eats are yet to be shared!
